Who I am
I am a translator, writer and editor as well as a qualified teacher of English. As a native speaker I am particularly sensitive to the nuances of the English language, but I am also a perfectionist when it comes to finding the most accurate and appropriate wording and style for a particular text. I believe that a translation should never be recognizable as such, but should sound as natural and fluent as the original. After all, a text is not a bag of words to be dealt with one by one, but a cohesive unit of meaning and ideas that must work together to express your message.
Having lived in the Netherlands for over twenty years, I am completely at home in the subtleties of the Dutch language as well as Dutch culture. As a result, I have the tools I need to get to the heart of a text and produce a translation of your message that will work effectively for an English-speaking reader.
